The Christmas Market is one of the largest and prettiest markets in Switzerland. It boasts over 320 stalls and is visited by over 100,000 people every year. The mixture of market stalls, traditional Christmas customs, culinary delights and various musical treats performed in different locations free of charge help to prepare the visitors for the coming Christmas season.

In 1996, two years after the traffic was re-directed away from the old town, the Christmas Market was combined with the Christkindli Market to become a wonderful spectacle in the streets of the old town. Now it is possible to stroll through the richly decorated stalls and be tempted by the wide range of wares in complete comfort. The more romantically inclined have the opportunity to take a seat in a white coach and tour Bremgarten in style.

A treat for the children is the small pet zoo. There are ponies to ride and a gingerbread house – and an old lady who tells traditional stories and fairy tales. Then there is the magical spectacle of the Christmas trees, lights and decoration, which delights the audience every year.

This year's spectacle is sponsored by the Bremgarten Town Market Commission and the costs are divided between the various associations, including the tradespeople and Bremgarten Tourismus, as well as countless other generous benefactors who offer their time and money to make sure that the visitors will benefit from the warm hospitality of Bremgarten.
